Science Olympiad Foundation has launched International English Olympiad from this year onwards. This Olympiad is for the the students from Class 2 to Class 10 and registrations are only through schools as of NCO, NSO and IMO.

The International English Olympiad (IEO) is a one-of-a-kind examination, and first in the history of English language testing in India. IEO is a joint venture of the Science Olympiad Foundation and The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. The examination has been developed by a group of testing professionals who constitute the All India English Language Testing Authority (AIELTA) at The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).

Kids of Little Einstein - An innovative young scientist Program went for a field trip to Guindy Zoological park to visualize the birds which they are dealing about in their current semester. The kids really enjoyed seeing different kinds of birds and were able to categorize them based on their knowledge which they have gained in the current semester of birds. LITTLE EINSTEIN – FIELD TRIP

Our Little Einstein group went for a field trip to Birla Planetarium , Periyar Science and Technology Park at Adyar as a part of their current Semester of Little Einstein – Young Scientist program to learn more about our Solar System.

We went to the Science museum and had a look on the various exhibits. The Ocean world was really enjoyed by the kids especially the various creatures under water and the models of various ships.

Then it was time for the 3D show of evolution which was a bit scary experience for them to see huge snakes, Dinosaurs, coming near them. They were all shouting with excitement and had a fun time.

We then went to the Cosmic Show which was really spell bounding and the kids were moved by the show. Then we took some snaps outside. Then we went to the children’s park where we sat down and had our snacks after which we got into the car and came back to our academy.

For the award presentation ceremony, the top 150 rank holders were invited. The other awards will be handed over to the representative teacher of each school which in turn will be distributed by them in the school.

The sponsors, Hatsun, awarded prizes to the Chennai toppers in classes 2 – 12

Our student Rishabh Mandhana got All India Second rank in the final level of 11th National Science Olympiad who has been awarded with a Silver Medal and a laptop by Science Olympiad foundation in the grand award Ceremony.

Following is the brief summary of  program:-

The Award ceremony was held on 31st May'09 in New Delhi. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Hon'ble Justice JS Verma - Former Chief Justice, Supreme court of India.
There were 8 other distinguish guest / personalities from various fields were present in the award ceremony.
Rishabh got the award from Mr. JC Chaudhary - Managing Director, Akash Educational Services Limited. ( as seen in the picture attached)

Brainy Einstein Educational Academy was launched in August 2007 and has been completely involved in Science Olympiad coaching and Science academics coaching for CBSE, ICSE and Matric Boards. Little Einstein - Budding Scientist Program

Our innovative Program " Little Einstein " -A unique program to tap the minds of budding scientists will commence from 1st week of June. The age group will be 5-10. Parents who are willing can contact the academy by this week itself and get yourself registered. Only 10 seats. Classes will be on Saturdays (3-4.30pm). Its a semester based program which is targeted towards overall development of kids.

Little Einstein – Summer Science Program – Valedictory function

Brainy Einstein Educational Academy concluded the first batch of the innovative, unique science program “ Little Einstein” on May 2, 2009 with a fun time, party and prize distribution for the kids. This summer program is a trial for the regular program which is to be started by June 2009 and it was a great success. We got the feedback from the parents that their kids really had a nice time spending their summer vacation in learning new things and they also added that their kids are talking scientifically these days..That’s a good sign actually and we achieved what we expected..

It was really amazing to see our kids answering the questions related to Plant and Human Anatomy with ease and clear understanding.. We in our academy believe in a small group and quality teaching..The last day session included final evaluation (written test) and an oral presentation on the topic of their choice, fun time, party and prize distribution. Trophies and merit certificates were given to Little Einstein Award winners and all the participants received a course completion certificate and books as prizes.

Little Einstein - Summer Camp - Weekly report

Little Einstein - an innovative , Unique Science Summer camp for the kids aged 6 - 10 yrs by Brainy Einstein Educational Academy has successfully finished the first week, first batch. There are children ranging from UKG to 5th standard and the kids are really enjoying the sessions. The first week is totally dedicated for Plants.

The children had a review on 18th April (5th Session) . There were questions from the Quiz section and GK section of all the 5 Sessions. Three among them ( Shyaam (II std) , Krishna (II Std) and Abirami (IV Std) got the first prize.

Model Science Olympiad 2008

Brainy Einstein Educational Academy conducted Model Science Olympiad 2008 during November and the prizes were distributed to the First and Second rank holders on 25th December 2008. Nikhil Venkatesh, Class VII of P.S.B.B. Millenium School and Rishabh Mandhana, Class IV of Hindu Senior Secondary School won the Brainy Einstein of the year 2008 award. The Academy also conducted an essay contest in two levels, Junior and Seniors and the Prizes were distributed for the same. The list of Prize winners for various classes can be viewed in this link. International Maths Olympiad

The International Mathematics Olympiad invites students from 2nd to 12th class to participate and excel at international level and is scheduled on 18th December 2008.

The test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during the school hours.
(i) The competition is a written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions.
(ii) The question paper consists questions of Mathematical Ability, Logical and Analytical Reasoning and Everyday Mathematics.
(iii) There are separate question papers for each class.
(iv) The medium of the test is English.
(v) CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabus is followed for setting the test papers.
(vi) The exam is conducted during school hours, preferably between 10.00 a.m. and 11a.m.

National Science Olympiad is one way to make the children to learn the concepts clearly and applying those concepts in everyday life. Application knowledge is very important to get through any Science talent exams. Here is the syllabus and reference books for the 11th National Science Olympiad exams for classes 2nd to 12th. There are two levels Level 1 and Level 2. Top 500 students and the school toppers will appear the level 2 exam. A nominal fee is charged for each student. Students should be registered through the schools only for Science Olympiad exams. Individual registration by the student is not encouraged.

Leaves - Amazing Cook!!

Leaves are known as the kitchen of the plants as they prepare the food for the whole plant. With the help of the green pigment chlorophyll, the leaves put together water from the soil absorbed by the roots and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that enters the leaf through stomata, in the presence of sunlight prepares the food called starch and give out oxygen by the process of Photosynthesis, which literally means Photo- Sunlight , Synthesis- putting together. During this process, light energy(Sunlight) is converted into chemical energy( fixed carbon compounds- Carbohydrates) and stored.

I m amazed to see the growing awareness among the parents regarding the science olympiad examinations. I m getting phone calls even from other cities apart from Chennai to know the details of the exam and preparation details.. Thats a good sign actually. Few book publishers are providing the resource books for Science olympiads like., MTG and Brain Mapping Academy.. The Science Olympiad exams are nearing and 3 more months to go.. Little serious and concept based preparation will do more. Its more than enough if we cover the respective class CBSE books. From 6th to 10th standard 75% of the questions can be answered if you are thorough in NCERT books.What more? Go ahead.. Start preparing.. Aim to reach the stars...
